Our Mission
To make institutional clinical knowledge easier to access while preserving complete traceability to the underlying source material.
Clinical protocols contain critical decision-support information, but they're often scattered across hundreds of documents with no unified way to search them. MediAssist addresses this by providing a conversational interface that sits on top of institutional protocol libraries, allowing healthcare professionals to ask questions in natural language and receive answers that cite their sources.

MediAssist is currently in the product development and validation stage.
The core RAG architecture has been built and demonstrated. We are now working with clinical partners to validate the product's utility, refine the user experience, and prepare the infrastructure for institutional deployment.

Vision
We envision a future where healthcare professionals can access any piece of institutional clinical knowledge through a simple question, with confidence that the answer is grounded in verified source material.
As clinical guidelines continue to evolve and expand, tools like MediAssist can help bridge the gap between institutional knowledge repositories and point-of-care decision support—making it easier for clinicians to apply the latest evidence-based protocols without manual document searching.
Academic Partnership
MediAssist is being developed at Universidad ORT Uruguay as a final thesis project. The project combines computer science, artificial intelligence, and healthcare informatics to address a real-world clinical need.
We work in close partnership with SMIU (Sociedad de Medicina Interna del Uruguay), a medical society that represents internal medicine specialists across Uruguay. SMIU provides clinical domain expertise, helps validate product direction, and ensures we're addressing actual practitioner needs.
Location
MediAssist is based in Montevideo, Uruguay. The team works at the intersection of Latin American healthcare challenges and global AI innovation.
